Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about scope, pricing, scheduling and what actually happens in a session. If your question is not here, call 917-925-8263.
Is Larkfield Health Studio a medical practice?
No. We are a wellness education and coaching practice. Our coaches are certified in personal training and nutrition coaching, but they are not physicians, dietitians, psychologists or physical therapists. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication or provide medical treatment.
Do I need a doctor's clearance before starting?
Not usually. If you have a cardiovascular condition, are pregnant, are recovering from surgery, or are managing a chronic illness, we ask for written clearance from your physician before beginning movement programming.
How much does it cost?
An assessment visit is $145 and ongoing sessions start at $95. The full price list is published on our Programs page. There are no registration fees, no equipment fees and no minimum contract.
Do you accept insurance?
No. We are private-pay. We can issue an itemised receipt that some HSA and FSA administrators accept, but we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
What happens at the first visit?
Seventy-five minutes: your history and current routine, a movement screen, baseline measurements and a conversation about what a realistic week looks like. You leave with immediate priorities and receive the written plan within three business days.
How long until I see results?
It depends on the goal and the starting point. Sleep and energy changes are usually noticeable within three to four weeks. Strength and body-composition changes take longer — we review trends monthly rather than weekly for that reason.
Can I pause my program?
Yes. Programs can be paused for up to fourteen days at no charge with 48 hours' notice, and longer for medical reasons.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free rescheduling up to 24 hours before a session. Later cancellations are charged at half rate, waived once per year per client and always waived for illness. See the Refund Policy for details.
Do you work with people over 60?
Yes, and it is a substantial part of the practice. Programming is adjusted for joint history, balance and medication effects, in coordination with your physician.
Do you offer group sessions?
Saturday kitchen sessions run for groups of six, and we deliver workplace workshops for teams of up to twenty-five. Regular coaching is one-to-one.
Where exactly are you located?
1797 Hoffman Avenue, New York, NY 10016, in Kips Bay. Ground floor, step-free entry, close to the 6 train at 28th Street and the M15 bus.
